Dear Church Family,
What a wonderful last couple of weeks it has been! From a powerful training with Teenie Finley two weekends ago, to this last week having time with family and close friends; it truly has been a blessed last couple of weeks. As I was reflecting this thanks giving on the many things we have to be grateful for, I was reminded of the psalmist exclamation in Psalms 136, “Oh, give thanks to the LORD, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever… To Him who alone does great wonders, for His mercy endures forever; “
As we are moving into the Christmas season—a time to reflect on the goodness of God—let us not be distracted by all the commercialization that can attend Christmas. Let us remember the reason for this time of year. Our God, sent His son, His only begotten Son, to this dark world to redeem us as His own. I would encourage you to contemplate the following quote I cam across this last week:
“Never can the cost of our redemption be realized until the redeemed shall stand with the Redeemer before the throne of God. Then as the glories of the eternal home bust upon our enraptured senses we shall remember that Jesus left all this for us, that He not only became an exile from the heavenly courts, but for us took the risk of failure and eternal loss. Then we shall cast our crowns at His feet, and raise the song, ‘Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honor, and glory, and blessing.’ Rev 5:12” DA pg 64.
I look forward to the day when we can stand with the redeemed on the sea of glass and contemplate how much God has given for us! Soon, we are going home!
Warmest Regards
—Pastor Phil Mills

Christian Smith—Bible Worker
|
|
| |
Christian Smith Graduates from the Amazing Facts College of Evangelism this coming weekend. Over the last five months, he has received training in Giving Bible studies, calling for decisions, coordinating evangelistic series, cooking schools, an in depth study of the prophecies of the Bible, Etc. A wealth of knowledge and experience from his time there. It is going to be wonderful to have him back!
Bible Worker Position: Christian is coming back trained as a Bible worker. Next spring we have many things that we would like to accomplish in our community. As it is now, we have more interests then we have time to follow-up. Also, there are members who would like to go on studies with someone else. This spring we have training happening for Andrews students and members, an evangelistic series coming in May, and so much more between now and then. We are going to find it hard do it all. I believe this is an ideal time to hire a part time bible worker to help carry the load.
Of course, right now, we don’t have the funds. However, we have a God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills! He can provide means we can’t even begin to fathom. Already He has given us $150,000 to remodel our church, another $8,000 for the sound system, not to mention the roof, etc. I know he can do it. And it may be that he will move on some of you to help us raise the funds. There maybe be some who could pledge $10, $15, $20, $50 or more dollars a month (for the next 6 months,

January—June of 2012), to hire a Bible worker for our congregation. Just think if we have 30 people pledge $10-$30 a month, we would have $300-$800. The conference has said that if we raise $500-600 a month they will hire the part-time Bible worker.
I want to quickly add that Hartford is one of the most giving churches I have been in, and so I know there are those of you who are already giving more then you can afford in other areas. Thank you! I am only presenting the need, and asking God to supply the funds if it’s His will.
As a church board, this coming Monday, we will be discussing this. If God is in it, then I know He will provide the funds. Pray for us as we contemplate and vote whether to more forward with this or not.
